Frequently Asked Questions

Tilting isn't working — the bottle won't pour

Make sure you granted motion access when the app asked. Every time you open the app you'll be asked how you want to play (hand and tilt/slider) — pick slider there if tilt isn't working for you, or open Options from the Home menu and tap "Change control mode" to switch anytime. If pouring feels backwards, open Options and tap "Tilt direction" to switch it from Normal to Flipped.

Are there in-app purchases?

No. Every bottle, liquid pack, and theme is unlocked with coins you earn by playing — there's nothing to buy with real money. Your coins, unlocks, and progress are stored on your device, so deleting and reinstalling the app will start you fresh (Game Center leaderboard scores and achievements are the one exception — see below).

How do I turn off sound or vibration?

Open the Home menu, then Options — you'll find "Sound: On/Off" and "Haptics: On/Off" toggles there. You can also mute sound quickly from the speaker icon during gameplay.

What's the Leaderboard / how do achievements work?

Tilt-A-Pour optionally connects to Apple's Game Center — tap "Leaderboard" from the Home menu to sign in and see the Best Pour Streak leaderboard. It's entirely optional; the game works fully without it. Four achievements track 3-starring every level, hitting a 5-pour streak, unlocking Master Mode, and owning every bottle skin. Since Game Center stores this on Apple's account, not on your device, your leaderboard score and achievements stick around even if you delete and reinstall the app, as long as you're signed in to the same Game Center account.

How does Play Nearby (two-player) work?

Play Nearby is a head-to-head mode for two people in the same room. Both of you open Play Nearby from the Home menu. When your phones find each other, one sends a challenge and the other taps Accept. One of you is the bottle and pours by tilting; the other is the glass and watches it fill with the pourer's liquid. Then you swap roles, using the same target both times, and the higher score wins. You can rematch or leave anytime. It doesn't touch your coins, streak, or unlocks, and it needs no internet connection or account.

Is Play Nearby safe? What does it share?

Play Nearby talks only to the one phone in the room you choose to play with — nothing goes over the internet and nothing is sent to us. Nobody can join your match unless you tap Accept, and the connection between the phones is encrypted. What's shared is a nickname (your Game Center display name if you're signed in, otherwise a nickname you type — it doesn't have to be your real name) and game data like the target, the amount poured, the liquid's color, and scores. There is no chat or free-form messaging. While the Play Nearby screen is open your phone announces your nickname to other nearby phones running Play Nearby so they can find you, so open it only when you're ready to play, and only accept challenges from people you know. Nothing is saved about the people you play. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.

Play Nearby can't find my friend / the challenge never arrives

Check that: (1) you're both on the Play Nearby screen at the same time; (2) you're in the same room and close together; (3) Bluetooth is on and, when iOS asks, you allowed Bluetooth and Local Network for Tilt-A-Pour (you can change this in Settings → Tilt-A-Pour); (4) you're both on the same Wi-Fi network if possible, which makes finding each other faster and more reliable; (5) you both have the same, latest version of the app; and (6) the person invited taps Accept within about 45 seconds. If it still won't connect, back out of Play Nearby on both phones and try again. If the connection drops mid-match — someone walks out of range, or leaves the app — the match ends and each phone shows a message before returning to the menu.

I found a bug or the app crashed

Sorry about that! Please email us with your device model (e.g. iPhone 14), your iOS version, and what you were doing when it happened — that context helps us fix it fast.

Do you have a Privacy Policy?

Yes — it's at /privacy. Short version: Tilt-A-Pour collects no personal information and has no accounts, ads, or analytics. Two optional features send information somewhere other than us: Play Nearby (a nickname and game moves, straight to the one phone you accept a match with — never over the internet) and Apple's Game Center (governed by Apple's own privacy policy).
