Privacy Policy
Tilt-A-Pour · Last updated: September 28, 2026
Tilt-A-Pour ("the App," "we," "our") is a retro pouring game you can play on your own or, with "Play Nearby," head-to-head against a friend in the same room. It also has an optional Game Center connection. This policy explains what information the App does and does not collect, and exactly what is shared between two phones during Play Nearby.
The short version: Tilt-A-Pour has no account, no login, no ads, no analytics, and no server of ours — we do not collect or receive any of your information. Your coins, unlocked bottles/liquids/themes, and settings all stay on your device. Two features send information somewhere, and neither sends it to us: Play Nearby sends a nickname and game moves directly to the one nearby phone you choose to play against (never over the internet), and Apple's optional Game Center is governed by Apple's privacy practices, not ours. Both are described in full below.
Information We Collect
We do not collect any personal information. We have no server, so nothing you do in the App is ever sent to us. The App does not access your contacts, photos, camera, microphone, location, or email address.
The only name the App ever uses is the nickname you choose for Play Nearby (or, if you are signed in to Game Center, your Game Center display name). It is shown only to the player you play against and is never sent to us — see "Play Nearby" below.
Information Stored On Your Device
To let you pick up where you left off, the App saves a small amount of gameplay data locally on your device using standard iOS storage (Apple's UserDefaults, accessed through the Capacitor Preferences API). This includes:
- Your in-game coin balance
- Which bottles, liquid packs, and themes you've unlocked and which are equipped
- Your preferred pouring hand and control mode (tilt or slider)
- Sound and haptics on/off settings
- A simple note that you have already seen the Play Nearby explanation screen, so it isn't shown every time
This data never leaves your device. We cannot see it, and it is not transmitted to us or to any third party. If you delete the App, this data is deleted with it. The nickname you type for Play Nearby is not saved — it is kept only while the App is open — and the App does not save any information about people you have played against.
Device Sensors (Motion)
Tilt-A-Pour's core gameplay uses your device's motion sensors (accelerometer) so you can tilt your phone to pour. Motion data is read in real time to control the game and is never recorded or stored — it exists only for the moment it takes to render that frame of gameplay. In Play Nearby, the amount you have poured (a single number, not your raw motion data) is shared with your opponent's phone so they can watch their glass fill.
Play Nearby (Two-Player, Same Room)
Play Nearby lets two people in the same room play against each other, phone to phone. It uses Apple's MultipeerConnectivity technology over Bluetooth and your local Wi-Fi network. No internet connection, account, or server is involved, and none of this information is sent to us. Play Nearby is optional — the rest of the game works exactly the same without it.
Permissions. The first time you use it, iOS asks for permission to use Bluetooth and your Local Network. The App uses them only to find and connect to the other player's phone. You can turn either off at any time in Settings → Tilt-A-Pour.
What is shared, and with whom:
- While you are looking for a match (only while the Play Nearby screen is open), your phone announces itself to nearby devices that are also running Tilt-A-Pour's Play Nearby so they can find you. That announcement contains only your nickname and random codes (one of them changes every time you open Play Nearby and is used only to decide which phone sends the invitation). It carries no account, contact, or location information. As with any device on a network, your device's network address is visible to the devices it connects to. Because the announcement travels over your local network and Bluetooth, other devices on the same network — for example on shared or public Wi-Fi — could technically see it. Open Play Nearby only when you're ready to play, and choose a nickname you're comfortable sharing.
- Your nickname: if you're signed in to Game Center, the App uses your Game Center display name. Otherwise it asks you to type a nickname (up to 12 characters). It doesn't have to be your real name.
- During a match, only game information passes between the two phones: the target, the timer, how much has been poured, the color and name of the liquid being poured, scores, and simple match messages (start, swap roles, rematch, leave). There is no text chat, voice, photo sharing, or any way to send free-form messages.
Your control and protections:
- Nobody can join your match unless you tap Accept. You can decline any invitation. Only accept challenges from someone you know — the App cannot verify who is holding the other phone, which is exactly why the choice is yours.
- The connection between the two phones is encrypted.
- Sharing stops immediately when you leave Play Nearby (including from the results screen), or when you close or background the App.
- Neither phone keeps a record of the other player. When a match ends, their nickname and scores are gone.
Game Center (Optional)
Tilt-A-Pour offers an optional connection to Apple's Game Center for leaderboards and achievements. This is entirely opt-in — you can play the entire game, including every level and the shop, without ever signing in to Game Center, and nothing in the App requires it.
If you do sign in (or are already signed in to Game Center on your device), the App sends the following to Apple's Game Center service so it can display your standing to you and other players who use Game Center:
- Your best pour-streak score, for the "Best Pour Streak" leaderboard
- Progress toward four in-game achievements (3-starring every level, hitting a 5-pour streak, unlocking Master Mode, and owning every bottle skin)
This data is sent to and stored by Apple, not by us — we never see it ourselves, and Apple's own Privacy Policy (https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/) governs how Game Center handles it. You can review or reset your Game Center data, or turn Game Center off entirely, from your device's Settings app. Game Center scores and achievements are not part of Play Nearby matches. If you are signed in, Play Nearby also reads your Game Center display name to use as your nickname (see above).
In-App Purchases
This version of Tilt-A-Pour has no in-app purchases. Every bottle, liquid pack, and theme is unlocked with in-game coins earned by playing. There is nothing to buy, and the App never asks for or handles payment information. If paid cosmetic items are added in a future update, they will be processed entirely by Apple's App Store / StoreKit — we would not receive or store your payment information — and this policy will be updated before that happens.
Children's Privacy
Tilt-A-Pour is designed to be suitable for a general audience, including children. We do not collect personal information from anyone, including children, and the App has no accounts, ads, or chat. Play Nearby only connects to a phone in the same room whose invitation you accept, and the only text one player ever sees from another is a nickname the other player chose. Parents and guardians can turn off Bluetooth and Local Network access for the App at any time in Settings → Tilt-A-Pour, or simply not use Play Nearby — everything else in the game works the same.
Analytics, Advertising & Third-Party Services
As of this version, Tilt-A-Pour does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs, and it does not track you across other apps or websites. The only outside services involved are Apple's own (Game Center, and the Bluetooth/Wi-Fi technology behind Play Nearby). If this changes in a future update (for example, to add optional crash reporting to help us fix bugs), this policy will be updated first, and any such service will be chosen and configured to collect the minimum data necessary — never information that identifies you personally.
Your Rights
Because we don't collect personal data, there is nothing tied to you for us to access, correct, or delete on our end. You can clear all locally stored game data at any time by deleting the App from your device. For anything related to your Game Center data specifically, Apple — not us — is who to contact, since that data lives on Apple's service under Apple's privacy policy.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, note them here. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated policy.
